How apprenticeships and traineeships training program actually work and who benefits?

The User Choice apprenticeships and traineeship 2016-17 program provides aspiring apprentices and trainees government funding contribution towards the cost of training and assessment services for eligible students undertaking an apprenticeships or traineeships.

The programs target audience is available for:

  • School based apprenticeships and traineeships
  • Existing Workers or workforce willing to upskill

How does the program works?

The program provides the flexibility for apprentices, trainees and their employers to select a preferred registered training organisation (RTO) like Business Success Group – BSG from a list of pre-qualified suppliers for the delivery of nationally recognised, accredited training to meet individual and business specific needs. The program works in conjunction with the Commonwealth Australian Apprenticeships System, under which apprentices and trainees and receive structured training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

Did you know apprenticeship or traineeships is not restricted to traditional trades? Training is also available for office roles in business, administration, retail or IT. Corporate - large or small enterprises can participate e.g. administration employees pay crucial role in supporting the business?

Program cost?

The User Choice price is heavily subsided by government as they value skilling Queensland for work. ** Under the User Choice program there are two (2) different apprentice or trainee co-contribution fees:

  • Non-concessional - full fee of $1.60/nominal hour of each course or unit.
  • Concessional – discounted fee of 40% of the nominal student fees.
e.g lets say a course nominal hours equals 400 hours. 400x1.6= $640 non-concessional, concessional (40% discount) = $256

User Choice engages pre-qualified suppliers (PQS) are registered training organisations (RTOs) that the Queensland Government approves to deliver publicly-funded training and assessment services to apprentices and trainees.
